When you, like, use, like, the word "like", like, more than 5 times a sentence you sound, you know, sort of, like, childish and ridiculous. I mean, like, it just seems, sort of, like, i don't know, like, hilarious that you've made it as far as, uh, like, law school and you can't, like, speak without sounding like a 12 year old girl.
I mean, like, I'm sorry to sound, uh, harsh, but, like, I just sort of, like, find listening to you speak like this when I know damn well you're intelligent enough to know better sort of, like, irritating as shit.

Thank you so much for calling out people for engaging in such verbal diarrhea. I wish it were true that only women engaged in this behavior, but unfortunately I've seen quite a few men do it too. How can we expect our elders to take us seriously when we can't even construct a coherent sentence? Why don't people think before they speak? Are there too many incentives to speak without thinking?
I don't know. I hesitate to bring this up. I talk like a damn fool - cursing up a storm and engaging in "verbal diarrhea" - a lot of the time. But certain verbal ticks make me nauseous. The "like, ya know?" phenomena is one example. I'm picking on girls because I think it's a behavior we engage in to dumb ourselves down: it's classic sucking up to daddy/flirting with the quarterback behavior. Mostly though, it's just the difference between USE of language and ABUSE of language. We won't, uh, even, um, talk about, uh, other ticks.
Sorry for my inarticulate use of adjectival phrases and my overbearing holier-than-thouness; I was very tired and drunk and a bit angry at the time, and I catch myself saying meaningless things sometimes as well, but at least I catch myself. I wonder if most of these people really know what they're saying, and if they'd be embarrassed if they could hear a recording. And I totally agree that women dumb themselves down, which is probably a major contributor to whatever misogyny I may have, but hey, that's their choice I guess. I don't think you talk like a fool though. God knows I curse far more than I should.
Isn't it funny that neither of us can fully commit to either a full apology for or embrace of our total nit-picky dialectical snobbery?
